TCF pre-assessment regional roadshows
The FSA is inviting all firms in an area where assessments are due to take place to half-day pre-assessment roadshows held in their region. The three-year programme will cover the whole country, giving all firms a chance to attend.
These regional roadshows give you the chance to:
- work through real TCF issues that may affect your firm
- learn from other firms about how they approach key TCF issues
- get a clear idea of the FSA's expectations regarding TCF to help you prepare for the assessment process
What brokers say
The interactive method used at these roadshows has been very well received by brokers. The FSA reports that at least two thirds of firms who attend say they will definitely change some aspect of the way they work because of what they have learned.
Signing up to attend a roadshow
If your firm is due an assessment, the FSA will write to you 12-14 weeks in advance, inviting you to attend. The roadshows are usually in a region for three or four days and you'll be offered the choice of attending a half day session in one of two locations. Note that you can't book over the phone - you must complete and return the booking form sent to you. The earlier you book, the more likely you'll get your first choice of location and session.
The regions yet to be visited by the FSA include Scotland, North East England, Wales, London,Yorkshire and East Midlands. The FSA will announce the dates of the next set of roadshows in due course.
Attending a roadshow if you aren't due for an assessment
If there are places left the FSA will advertise them via their regulation round-up email - however priority will be given to firms invited because they are due an assessment.
